New green retail banking store opens in Porter Ranch
Wells Fargo & Company has opened a LEED Gold-certified retail banking store in Porter Ranch, California, US.
The facility imbibes a host of eco-friendly elements such as a light harvesting system. The system can adjust light on the basis of availability of natural light, thereby reaping 20% of energy cost cuts. The insulation offered in the building is formed of reclaimed cotton, mainly denim. The glass installed in the building comprises low-e coating which maximizes daylight circulation while eliminating heat gain and UV ray effects. Every glass panel comprise 50% of recycled content.
The property has been equipped with water-efficient plumbing systems and controls which consume 40% less water than similar traditional buildings. The carpets, window treatments, and counter surfaces incorporated in the building are entirely reclaimable. Other green features include use of low-VOC paints, sealants, coatings, and adhesives, over 20% recycled materials, and more than 40% of regionally-produced materials.
