New Chicago Cubs & ASU baseball facility to break ground soon
The Chicago Cubs and the City of Mesa is set to break ground on a new $99 million spring training baseball facility in Arizona, US on 11 July 2012.
The facility will be situated at the intersection of Loop 101 and Loop 202 in Mesa. It will serve as a combined ASU Baseball/Chicago Cubs spring training baseball facility. The stadium will have a seat capacity of 15,000. It will integrate some features from the Wrigley Field as well as the State of Arizona. It will consist of a large video board positioned left-centre field, along with several modern amenities such as shaded seats, as well as luxury suites.
Among the various other features of the new property include a shared playing field, seven full-size practice fields, upgraded concessions and restrooms. In addition, there will be a separate clubhouse for ASU.
