NCC to construct two office buildings for Rosenlund Bydelssenter in Norway

Norway-based NCC Construction has been assigned to construct two office buildings worth SEK350 million ($57.2 million) in the Municipality of Lillehammer in Norway for Rosenlund Bydelssenter AS.

The project comprises two, five-storey office buildings with a total 21,000 square metre of floor space, including 6,000 square metre of underground parking divided among two floors.

Out of these two buildings, one will be constructed to achieve an energy classification of A and the other at least an energy classification of B, with the option of also being constructed with an energy classification of A.

Among other actions, 50 energy wells will be drilled up with heat pumps to supply the building with heating. Virtual design and construction (VDC) will be deployed throughout the project.

Construction will commence in August 2012 and is scheduled for completion by July 2014.
