Nationwide Children’s Hospital opens first suburban ambulatory surgery centre
Nationwide Children’s Hospital has opened its first $20.6 million suburban ambulatory surgery centre in Westerville, Ohio, US.
The facility is an extension of the existing surgical services on the main campus. It covers an area of 46,000 square feet for patient care while encompassing two floors.
The first level of the building features outpatient ambulatory surgery which includes four advanced operating rooms. There are private pre-operative and post-operative rooms for patient care. The rooms enable the accompanying families of patients to stay with their child before and after surgery. The floor incorporates a one-way flow layout with separate entryways and exit for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
The facility's second storey consists of medical and surgical pediatric subspecialty suites. They service clinics in gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pediatric surgery, urology and plastic surgery.
