Mutual of America wins LEED (EB-OM) Gold for New York HQ


Mutual of America's headquarters in New York city has secured LEED Gold certification under the Existing Building or Operations & Maintenance (EB-OM) category from the US Green Building Council.


Located at 320 Park Avenue in New York City, the new headquarters is a 750,000-square-feet facility that has achieved certification for adopting innovative solutions that aims at protecting the environment for future generations.

The company has implemented many green strategies at the 1995-built, 35-storied office block. These initiatives include implementation of energy conservation measures, which includes replacement of conventional lighting in the lobby with energy-efficient LED lighting, a complete retrofit of the roof lighting to energy-efficient fixtures and bulbs; and almost 31% reduction in water usage over baseline standards.

The headquarters was also the first existing building in New York City to win LEED Silver EB 2.0 certification in 2009.
