Muirfield Village in Ohio completes reconstruction of clubhouse

Muirfield Village, an upscale golf-oriented community in Dublin, Ohio, has completed reconstruction of its 40-year-old clubhouse which was overseen by Barbara Nicklaus.

The golf-oriented community is currently undergoing some interior and exterior decorating and will be ready before the start of the 38th Memorial Tournament. The clubhouse needed to be renovated as it was constructed almost 40 years ago.

As part of the reconstruction, new pillars or columns were added on the outside while the facade was updated with the columns replacing the wood siding and shake roof of the old clubhouse. Few roof lines were changed, and chimneys and dormer windows added in some skylights. A large clock tower at the centre of the connecting building was also updated as part of the project.

The buildings now enclose the closing hole, which provides a lengthy patio and several viewing areas for sponsors’ suites, while retaining the grass hills. The clubhouse also features a new fitness facility with private rooms for massages equipped with machines. An enclosed scorer’s room is provided for players after the completion of their rounds. Earlier, players used a small cramped room for the same purpose. An open area has been featured beneath the new suites.

The clubhouse and media pavilion, which used to be separated by 75 yards are now connected.
