Morgan Sindall completes new facility at University of Sussex

British construction company Morgan Sindall has completed work on a £17.8 million ($27.6 million) development for the University of Sussex.

Scope of work involved development of a new 8,000 square metre building at the University's Falmer campus. The new development will serve as the new house for the university’s School of Business, Management & Economics.

The project involved replacement of the Russell Building and Arts D and E blocks of the university with a new building. The new development includes a 500-seat lecture theatre, both general and specialist teaching rooms, academic and support space, and social and café facilities.

The new facility also incorporated a number of sustainable features, such as a sedum roof and rainwater harvesting systems. The building offers spacious and stimulating learning spaces.

This is the ninth project completed by Morgan Sindall for the university’s Falmer campus.
