Morelato showcases products at Opera Italiana
Morelato has showcased various products on stage at the Macef as part of the “Opera Italiana” event, as one of the most important representatives of the made in Italy.
The event consisted of a collection dedicated to the excellence among the Italian productions, showcasing the best creations of the Italian Style to operators and professionals of the furniture sector in the world.
Morelato showcased some pieces of the MAAM, the Museum for Applied Art in the furniture field, seat of the Aldo Morelato Foundation, where donated projects of famous architects are exhibited, as well as collections which are inspired by styles and “masters” of design of the last century; several re-editions of important architects; and the winners of the yearly organised International Competition “Significant Furniture”.
Morelato showcased the new library Codex, designed by Piero Lissoni which was donated to the Aldo Morelato Foundation. The design concept of Codex is a library of sizes with dimensions of L230 x H190 x D38cm. It is made of solid wooden panels with a minimum thickness of 12 mm to transfer visual lightness while ensuring maximum stability to the frame. The Codex library, produced by Morelato, is entirely made of ash wood and has a frame which is painted black while the doors are covered with red Formica. This double-sided library of simple and linear shape can be placed against the wall or in the centre as a division of the space. Codex is composed of compartments of different sizes which cover the whole surface.
The new Shark library, designed by Giuseppe Viganò, was also presented. The brand new modular wall system is composed of two main elements; posts and shelves, both available in different sizes which combine to create countless combinations.
Modularity, versatility and customisation are the main features of Shark. The model allows creation of customised solutions, vertically or horizontally, placed on the ground or hung, giving life to a variety of geometrical forms to furnish with style and efficiency. The wall system is completely made of high quality wood coming from plantations and varnished with non toxic water based varnish. The posts are made of walnut wood with clever grooves at fixed distance to support the shelves, proposed in maple wood, which are inserted in the grooves in correspondence to a groove made at the back.
Besides this, the Research Centre of the MAAM presented Eugenio writing desk and Book table at the event.
Book is a small square table made in cherry wood. The table is multi-functional. The central part of the top is a tray, which can be finished in different colours. When the tray is removed, a big useful compartment is revealed.
Eugenio is a new writing desk with a minimal and simple style made of wood. The model has a comfortable working top and two handy lateral drawers. Inspired by the 50s and 60s, Eugenio is completely made of cherry wood.
Designed by Franco Poli, the chair Celeste is an example of minimalism and elegance, characterised by light and essential forms. The back and seat are shaped in a way to give comfort to the body. The chair is completely made in cherry wood and presented with a natural finish.
