Moonen Yachts due to launch 42m Sofia super-yacht

Netherlands-based Moonen Shipyards is set to launch a 42-metre super-yacht christened Sofia later in 2012.

The tri-deck vessel will be the largest yacht to be built by the yard and will carry a three-person U-boatworx submarine. It has been designed by René van der Velden Design with Stolk Marimecs serving as the naval architect. The interior of the yacht, styled by Art-Line, will don a bright and open-plan concept.

Sofia will comprise a full-beam master cabin on its main deck, and two queen-sized cabins and two double or twin guest cabins situated on its lower deck. All these cabins will have a combined capacity to house up to ten guests. Its crew members will be accommodated on crew quarters for seven located on the lower deck.

Natural materials including oak and zebrano wood, fabric panels and rattan will adorn the vessel's owner’s and guest suites. The vessel will also be equipped with LED lighting fixtures throughout, and an advanced entertainment system comprising a full Kaleidescape video server with Samsung Smart LED TVs and multi-room control via i-Pad. Among various other features of the vessel include saloon and dining area, bridge deck with an open-air deck lounge and gym, and a sun deck with bar and spa pool.
