MKS Residential breaks ground on multi-family scheme in Colorado

US-based MKS Residential LLC has broken ground on 3100 Pearl Development, a new multi-family residential scheme in Boulder, Colorado.

Sprawling over a 5.3 acre site, 3100 Pearl Development will be a Class A, multifamily housing project that will consist of two buildings of three and four storeys, which will together offer 319 residential units.

The buildings will be built over two levels of subterranean parking. The project consists of 194 one-bedroom and 125 two-bedroom units. Each residential unit will have nine-feet ceiling and tiled kitchen with granite countertops. The homes will have energy efficient fixtures and decorative lighting.

The development will also have 3000 square feet of commercial/restaurant space. The integral part of the community will be its 10,000 square feet clubhouse, which will consist of 3,000 square feet fitness center and a 1,000 square feet all-purpose room, which will be used for conducting various fitness programs and activities, such as yoga, Pilates to P90X, kickboxing and spin classes.

Additional facilities at the clubhouse include leasing/management office, business center, cyber lounge and a game room complete with a teaching kitchen, pool table, indoor shuffleboard, and a Wii/video game station.

Other amenities for residents include a spa and a mosaic-tiled infinity pool, surrounded by seating area with barbeques and gas fire pits. The parking garage will accommodate a self-service bicycle repair facility and pet/dog washing facility.

Construction of the project will comply with several green practices and is being targeted at making it among the most green residential community of the US. The company is aspiring for LEED Silver certification for the scheme.

Construction will be done by ReyLenn Construction Company, an MKS affiliate, and is expected to be complete by June 2014.
