Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital starts work on ED expansion
The Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital in Ohio, US has begun a $2.5 million project for expansion and refurbishment of its Emergency Department (ED).
The expansion will be carried out in four phases. Work will involve creation of five extra patient beds, along with a makeover and expansion of the hospital's patient rooms. The building will also be equipped with a new waiting room and reception space following the overhaul.
The remodelled facility will incorporate a new entryway comprising a sheltered drop-off space. The area will be separate from the ambulance entrance to ensure better safety. The hospital will further house a second nurses station as well as a new triage zone to reduce patient waiting time. In addition, the facility will now accommodate a new four-room suite dedicated to Behavioral Health patients.
The project is due for full completion by early 2013.
