McQ opens flagship store in London

McQ, a brand from British fashion designer Alexander McQueen, has opened the London flagship store, ahead of London Fashion Week.

The three-storied boutique is designed as a home, featuring exposed metal structuring and airy ceilings, where old meets the new. It also accommodates an interactive table, which provides the opportunity to the customers to search, see and share past McQ shows and catwalk looks, or control the imposing video wall at the store's entrance.

Including floor-length mirrors in its design with inbuilt cameras, the store enables the customers to take pictures of themselves trying on clothes, which they can then email to their friends. To create an atmosphere replete with luxury and texture, the store features shagpile carpets, suede-walled changing rooms and velvet chairs. Creating an atmosphere of an intimate boudoir, the store includes a red leather lift and fixtures shaped like the female silhouette.

Paying homage to the brand's autumn/winter 2012-13 show, the design features catwalk looks amongst a forest of tree trunks and leaves. The store offers both men's and womenswear pieces, including some of the designs from the brand's London Fashion Week show debut last season.

The McQ London flagship opened on 14 September 2012 in Dover Street, London.
