McDiarmid Design presents new Penna superyacht concept

McDiarmid Design has presented the Penna superyacht concept, whose design is inspired by the organic forms of feathers.

The concept of Penna, belonging to the 100m yacht series, features both tail and flight feathers. The window that runs along the length of each hull has taken shape from the hollow shaft, or ‘calamus’ and ‘rachis’, of the feather.

Each series of glass panels exhibit a ruffled feather look, which allows natural light into the yacht. The aft section of the hull, superstructure and 'Day Light Opening' windows also reflect style in their design.

Elegant and fanciful, the new concept design aims at obtaining a floating atrium effect.
