McConaghy Boats launches 42.5m Adastra super-yacht
Chinese yard of Australian yacht builder McConaghy Boats has launched the 42.5-metre Adastra super-yacht.
The exterior of the vessel has been designed by UK-based John Shuttleworth Yacht Designs whereas its interior has been styled by Jepsen Designs. It comprises a master suite positioned aft with access from the deck saloon, as well as guest cabins forward of the engine compartment. The yacht has a capacity to house a maximum of nine guests. It also comprises separate accommodation for six crew members.
The vessel's hull is made of a glass and Kevlar sandwich using Corecell foam. Its superstructure is moulded from a carbon fibre laminate on a Nomex honeycomb core. All the hull structures of Adastra are resin infused to cut down weight and enhance performance. The super-yacht is powered by one single Caterpillar C18 diesel which is expected to offer it a maximum speed of 22.5 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots. The range of the vessel is 4,000 nautical miles.
