Mauricio Affonso creates Fan table
Brazilian-born Canadian designer Mauricio Affonso has come up with the new Fan table.
The table is characterised by a unique surface which is formed of over 400 slats of birch wood. The top of the furniture is capable of acquiring a host of shapes. The slats can be bunched tightly to attain a small rectangular shape. The slatted surface can also be expanded to create a longer rectangle, as well as fanned to create a complete circle.
The look of the item is complemented by its base which too, is made in birch. The base of the table can be folded or tucked away with the transformation in the shapes of the table. The design of Fan makes it ideal to be used in compact areas.
The table has been showcased during the Milan Furniture Fair in Ventura Lambrate held in Italy.
