Martin Brudnizki Design Studio designs new Lime Wood restaurant

Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has designed the new Lime Wood restaurant named Hartnett Holder & Co in London, which is collaboration between Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder.

A Regency country house in the midst of the New Forest National Park has been completely transformed into the Lime Wood restaurant with the interiors entirely redesigned by Martin Brudnizki. The refurbishment emphasises the classic detailing and timeless elegance of the building.

Brudnizki has designed a sympathetic décor that shows off Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder's simple dishes in a comfortable environment which is refined, relaxed and elegant. Featuring an English decor, the restaurant’s armchairs and sofas are upholstered in a range of patterned, textured fabrics, including rough linens, mohair velvets and aged leathers. These low-seating sofas allow guests to sink back and . enjoy their five star surroundings.

The lighting, a varied mix of delicate chandeliers and sourced antique lamps, is soft and layered, making for a relaxed, residential feel. In addition, Brudnizki has added a panelled, dark-stained oak bar, topped with an Irish green marble, to the restaurant.

Meats hang from a wine gantry, while a meat slicer and coffee machine sit on the bar, which evokes Hartnett's Italian roots and influences. Guests can choose to dine in the main dining space or in corner sofas for a secluded, romantic hide-away.

Furniture makers George Smith have manufactured bespoke pieces for the restaurant. In keeping with the use of local, foraged produce in Hartnett and Holder's kitchen, each George Smith piece is made in England by entirely traditional methods and with natural materials - British boar bristle, horsehair and duck down all stands in place of synthetic substitutes.
