Marriott International opens second Renaissance hotel in Barcelona
Marriott International has opened its second hotel in Barcelona, Spain dubbed Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel, which is designed by Jean Nouvel and Ribas & Ribas.
Located in Plaza Europa, the 357-room Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel is unique for its bold design and architecture. The design comprises two 110 metre towers joined at the top by a panoramic restaurant and terrace vantage point. A vertical garden has been created around the sleek, monochrome façade, which features 300 palm trees and natural vegetation originating from five continents, providing a natural oasis in the urban landscape.
The 27-floor Renaissance Barcelona Fira features a rooftop pool, an interior swimming pool, a gym and a solarium. The guestrooms are light and airy with leaf-shaped lighting and modern amenities. An entire floor has been dedicated to a meeting and event space, offering 1200 square feet across 11 flexible rooms with state-of-the-art technology.
There are three restaurants and bars including the panoramic Palmer restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine amidst the vertical garden; El Cel, a rooftop bar; and Oasis lobby bar, a place for drinks and snacks. It also offers views of Catalonia’s capital.
Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel has been opened under a franchise agreement with Hoteles Catalonia.
