Lukas Dahlén creates new Weave Cupboard
Swedish designer Lukas Dahlén has created the new Weave Cupboard.
The cupboard is made from ash wood and ash veneer and bears resemblance to a large basket. The design of the piece draws inspiration from the common wood and weed weaving technique. The furniture is characterised by subtly curved edges which offer it a soft feel.
The top and bottom plane of the cupboard is bound together by sticks kept together as in the case of a Windsor chair. A total of four of these sticks continue down and serve as its legs whereas two function as hinges.
The item has been showcased during the Milan Furniture Fair 2012 held in Italy.
