Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to open new terminal soon


Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, India is set open its new INR 1.2 billion ($21.32 million) terminal on 2 June 2012.


The terminal will be a three-tier building spanning 20,000 square metres. It will install advanced technology. The facility will have a capacity to house a maximum of about 650 passengers at one time and will be used for arrivals and departures of domestic and international flights.

The new terminal will consist of five custom counters, and 12 immigration counters. Its ground floor will house departure and arrival ports. The building's first floor will sport a swanky lounge connected to two aerobridges which will allow passengers to walk straight into the waiting aircraft on the tarmac. Among the terminal's other features include duty-free shops, cyber cafes, snack bars, shopping arcade, as well as book shops.
