Loews to open new hotel in California

Loews Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a new hotel in Hollywood by means of acquisition of the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

Subsequent to the acquisition, the company will re-brand the old hotel as Loews Hollywood Hotel and initiate a $26 million renovation to bring it in-line with the brands distinguishing elements. The scheme has been designed in a way that will add to the sense of energy and vibrancy, which is symbolic of Hollywood culture. The renovation is scheduled to commence in late 2012.

The 20-storey hotel stands above the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. The hotel's portfolio consists of 632 guestrooms, comprising 32 suites as well as more than 48,000 square feet of meeting space. The amenities at the hotel include a spa, pool terrace, restaurant as well as event space.

The guest at Loews Hollywood Hotel will have access to the 460,000 square feet Hollywood & Highland Center, which consists of more than 80 shops, 26 restaurants and eateries, two nightclubs, seven movie screens, eight bars, 12 bowling lanes, and the Dolby Theatre, where Academy Award ceremony is held.
