LG Hausys to showcase new kitchen model at 100% Design
Korean company LG Hausys Limited will showcase elements of a sophisticated display known as 'Contemporary Decor' featuring a kitchen produced entirely from HI-MACS at the 100% Design show in UK.
The products to be displayed at the show will include a kitchen produced entirely from the new generation Solid Surface. The company will use white surfaces built up from rounded layers to show the decorative elements with a contemporary twist.
The kitchen will be an amorphous room featuring curved shapes sweeping upwards to meet functional horizontal surfaces. The stand will present two elements of the futuristic kitchen that are made of HI-MACS, a Kitchen Island and a bench. It will also show the material benefits of HI-MACS, which is a natural stone/acrylic mix that can be thermoformed and works like wood.
LG Hausys also plan to display a sculpture, described as iconic sneaker soles, that was designed by Ora-ïto for Reebok and manufactured by Cándido Hermida. The sculpture, a wall-mounted installation made entirely from HI-MACS, is an interpretation of the Reebok RealFlex shoe. It was formerly displayed at the Wallpaper/Reebok exhibition in London.
The sculpture is made of HI-MACS, as it boasts ability to offer one unbroken, seamless sheet, for the 3m-wide work. It also offers superior strength to take the considerable weight of the sculpture. The design of the iconic sneaker soles roots inspiration from the RealFlex sole’s hidden art aspects that has created a topographic landscape. The sculpture was fabricated using automatic CNC machine, which delivered the required 3D shapes.
The products will be displayed at the 100% Eco, Design & Build area at stand number K32. It will be held at Earl's Court in London from 19-22 September.
