LBJ library begins major overhaul

The Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) library on The University of Texas campus in the US has begun major part of its renovation work.

The revamped facility will comprise 15 interactive areas, as well as a hand-held guide with a touch screen providing the users photos, audio, and videos. The Museum store will be twice the size of the existing store following the makeover.

The refurbished library will also incorporate three new theatres while featuring new interactive exhibits. The tenth floor of the building will sport the First Family in the White House. In addition, there will be a section on the Vietnam war post upgrades.

The project will be financed by private donations via the non-profit Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation. Work is expected to be over by December 2012.
