Lahaina Public Library in Maui to open post renovation


Lahaina Public Library at the island of Maui in Hawaii, US has completed a major $280,000 renovation work and will reopen on 13 November 2012.


The 56-year-old library will reopen after a three month renovation work. The library was closed in August for the project.

The interior renovation work included floor resurfacing, repainting of walls and the installation of new bookshelves, furniture and a circulation desk.

Rotary Club of Lahaina, with the cooperation of the Maui Friends of the Library and the Hawaii State Public Library System, obtained $40,000 in grants and $155,000 in free services from 16 contractors. 5A Rent-A-Space provided free storage for the 35,000 books.
