Korte wins contract for children’s museum in Nevada

US-based construction company Korte Company has secured a contract for the construction of an extension to the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Under the terms of the contract, Korte will build a 54,000 square feet museum, dubbed as Donald W. Reynolds Children’s Discovery Museum. The museum will be located within the 61-acres Symphony Park complex in downtown Las Vegas.

The museum will be marked by larger, higher caliber exhibits. It will accommodate nine distinct exhibition areas, including the Summit, and a multi-storey exploration area, which will accommodate the greatest of traveling exhibits.

The company will also develop a permanent WOW Tower, which will be built over the open three-storey atrium. The tower will be five-storey tall and will take children through the roof of the facility to an observation point.

Construction on the scheme is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.
