King's Cross extension to open in March

The 160 year old King's Cross station's new western concourse is scheduled to open on 19 March 2012 in London.

The new western concourse is a shell-shaped building that has been constructed with a predominance of steel and glass. The new concourse offers three-folds more space in comparison to the current concourse of the station.

The concourse offers better facilities, new links with the Tube, better links to St Pancras station, more shops and restaurants, larger destination boards and clearer station announcements. The new concourse has been built on the western side of the station.

The concourse can be entered from the the Tube and Euston Road, Pancras Road and by means of the new arcades on the ground floor of the Great Northern Hotel. The new concourse will serve as the departure terminal of the station.
