Kier wins $380 million health campus project in UK

Kier Property has been selected as preferred bidder for a £240 million ($380 million) project of Health Campus Partnership that involves development of a mixed-use scheme called Watford Health Campus in UK.

The Health Campus will be developed in a derelict land in west Watford. Pursuant to the contract, Kier will deliver a 375,000 square feet mixed-use development, consisting of new hospital facilities for Watford and south-west Hertfordshire, 650 homes, and a large multi-storey car park. Almost 35% of the total homes to be built will be affordable housing units.

The project will decant certain parts of the former hospital and build some new additions. The purpose is to transform the hospital facilities and site, and create green open spaces, tranquil water frontage and welcoming public spaces.

Kier will work with the Health Campus Partnership to complete the financial and legal aspects of their agreement by December 2012.

Health Campus Partnership is an association between Watford Borough Council, West Hertfordshire Health Trust (WHHT) and Watford Football Club.
