Kier Group has secured a £2.5 million ($3.9 million) contract from Places for People for the complete renovation of its Group Support Centre in Preston, UK.

The project will be delivered by Kier's interiors and refurbishment arm i&r. Scope of work involves redevelopment of the interior spaces of the building and redesigning of the building's exterior.

The company will offer a facelift to the old space by adding new finishes to the interiors. The scheme has been designed to make the old facility sustainable with a target to achieve BREEAM excellent rating.

The building will be equipped with new thermal insulation system, photovoltaic panels, as well as new mechanical and electrical systems running low on energy usage.

The project forms part of a four-year office revamp framework.
