Jonathan Charles launches Luxe collection
US-based firm Jonathan Charles has come up with the new Luxe collection.
The range is characterised by strong silhouettes and graphic linearity. The items of the collection are handcrafted and blend the antique and contemporary design with use of materials and techniques typical of the Depression period. Among the collection include Stepped chairs, and Interlaced tables.
The Stepped Chair line includes Stepped Breakfast Chair, and Art Deco Dining Chair. Stepped Breakfast Chair offers a minimalist twist to a classic breakfast nook chair with slender arms, and legs which are handrubbed in black lacquer. The look is accentuated by the item's stepped sloping edge on its back panel and seat railing. The chair has been designed to offer optimum support and comfort and also offers options of an armless version.
The Art Deco Dining Chair is a modern take on a classic Greek Klismos chair. The item has been upgraded with Art Deco features such as rosewood veneered back panel, seat railing and tapered ebonised legs. The chair, also coming in an armchair model, sports an extra padded seating clad in pebbled charcoal leather.
The Interlaced table range comprises Interlaced Coffee Table, Interlaced Demilune Console Table, and Interlaced Side Table. All the tables consist of undulating intersecting threads which are hand-cast to create an interlaced pattern of gilded iron. The table tops are in beveled edge glass.
