JLG Architects unveils design of new county office building

US-based JLG Architects has unveiled new designs for the upcoming Ward County Office Building and the expansion of the Ward County Jail in the city of Minot, North Dakota.

As reported in MinotDaily News.com, the exterior of the building includes a slick-looking glass-fronted entryway. The design has been described by the architects as a building that looks like it belongs next to the courthouse. The building’s design also allows for future vertical expansion for one extra floor if needed later.

The county jail commissioners have multiple jail expansion options. Option 2, applicable for both the Sheriff's Office and the commissioners, would actually fall under the allotted budget and does not include utility, road repair expenses, or property acquisition that may be incurred because of the larger footprint of the option. The design also allows the most room for future expansion or changes, reports MinotDaily News.com.

The new designs were unveiled at a meeting between the Citizen’s Committee and Ward County Commissioners.
