ISG wins Twodio student accommodation scheme in Bristol
ISG Plc, a UK-based construction services firm, has won a contract from The Homes Partnership to build a new £2 million ($3.16 million) student accommodation scheme dubbed, 'Twodio' for the Bristol University.
Twodio will be a three-storey building, which will be built within the Bristol city centre, close to Bristol University, on a former car park. The new block will be a timber frame building. The development will offer 56 beds, and will be based on twodio’ student living concept, whereby two en-suite study bedrooms are paired with a shared kitchen.
The facade of the building will have cladding and render elements. The construction of the building has a time frame of 35-weeks. The high point of the contract include usage of pre-fabricated bathroom pods, which will be built off-site and hoisted and installed on the site. The use of pre-fab components will allow the company to ensure consistent levels of quality.
The development forms part of The Homes Partnership’s phase II of King Square Studios scheme.
