ISG plc has secured a £3.6 million ($5.48 million) new primary school project for Warrington Borough Council, which will be constructed at the existing Woolston Community Primary School site.

Situated within the surrounding built environment, the new primary school building will be a steel frame structure, which features brickwork and cladding on its façade, with a composite roof structure.

In order to create a modern, well designed teaching accommodation, the new school includes a sports hall, spacious reception area, dining room and commercial kitchen, and a number of staff and administrative offices.

The large external component of the project includes the creation of a new playing field, playground areas and attractive landscaping across the site.

Upon completion, staff and pupils will move across to the new building and the old school will be demolished to make way for landscaping, recreational areas and car parking.

The school building is scheduled to complete in September 2013.
