IKEA opens pop-up lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport


Swedish flatpack furniture retailer Ikea has opened a temporary lounge at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France.


The new Ikea Lounge is located in the terminal 3 of the airport with an area of 220 square metre. It features a house-like setting, complete with living rooms, bedrooms and a 50 square metre space of dedicated playroom for children.

The lounge has nine beds, including one for disabled passengers, where passengers can take a nap and get refreshed for their next flight. The temporary lounge also have hostesses and qualified instructors in the children play area.

The company has used its expertise in interiors to create a relaxing space for economy class travellers. It also features several pieces from Ikea's line.

The lounge is open to all and will remain available until 5 August 2012.
