IKEA completes redesign of accessories marketplace at Covina store


Swedish home furnishings retailer IKEA has completed redesigning of the accessories marketplace at its San Gabriel Valley-area store in Covina, California.


To provide customers with more inspiring, updated displays, new products and a redesigned layout for a better shopping experience, the merchandising platform has been updated cookware, bedding, lighting, home organization and textiles departments.

The 325,000 square feet store underwent a nearly three-month phased transformation of its entire marketplace level (downstairs). As part of this transformation 100% of the marketplace displays, product bins, shelving and merchandise communications have been revamped.

Re-shaping the flow of the marketplace and enhancing the customer path, the renovated store features new vignette areas. it is renovated to provide a comfortable access to most of their favorite products available throughout the various accessory departments.

Located on 12.5 acres along I-10 at Barranca Avenue, the store was opened in May 2003. In addition to 10,000 exclusively designed items, IKEA Covina presents 50 different room-settings, three model home interiors, a supervised children’s play area, and a 400-seat restaurant serving Swedish specialties as well as American dishes.

Currently, there are more than 340 IKEA stores in 41 countries, including 38 in the US.
