Upscale hospitality brand InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with the Oman Tourism Development Company SAOC (Omran) for a new hotel named as Crowne Plaza Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

To be the second Crowne Plaza hotel in the capital and the fourth Crowne Plaza hotel in Oman, the new property will be a 296-room hotel.

The new-build property will feature extensive meeting and event facilities with a separate function centre, which will include a modern and stylish ballroom with terrace, a boardroom, and three large meeting rooms.

Apart from that the hotel will also feature five food and beverage outlets, including a rooftop restaurant. The other leisure and recreational facilities of the hotel include private outdoor relaxation zones with female and male Jacuzzi pools, 150 square metre fitness zone, two pools, and a children’s playground.

Being IHG’s eighth property in the Sultanate of Oman, the new hotel is part of Omran’s Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) development, which is due for completion in 2016.
