iGuzzini lights up fourth arch at Paddington
Lighting specialist iGuzzini has worked with Oxford Architects and lighting design consultancy GIA Equation on the restoration and lighting of the Edwardian fourth span at Paddington Station in London.

The design brief was to provide a high output and efficient light source. New LED lighting technology has allowed iGuzzini to completely change the way it designs lighting schemes for modern architecture, and because of the mounting height and restricted access to where the luminaires were to be placed, iGuzzini provided the Woody LED, using warm white LEDs to enhance the colour of the finished ceiling panels.
The newly unveiled arch's LED light fixtures have a rated life of 50,000 hours, which equates to more than 13 years of use based on the lighting being on for an average of 10 hours per night throughout the year.
