If only more industries were like this one...
says Joe Huddleston, of Overbury

As we roll through 2014, I think we should celebrate what a collaborative and social bunch the A&D community is and imagine 'if only more industries collaborated as much as we do'.
A year of design gets us face to face with a wealth of people, from clients and construction teams through to account holders, competitors and the public - all of which is essential to coordinate, deliver and remain inspired. This illustration depicts what the upcoming year could look like: the variety of industry collaboration we might be part of and the tools that will aid this.
An industry-wide passion for innovation and competitive advantage sees architects and designers embracing new technologies for collaborative design, improving efficiency and workflow as well as showing off what we have achieved by working together. Our greatest project successes come by collaborating from day one; inevitably, this is reflected in our designs and the benefits are passed on to our clients.
As diaries fill up with a year's social collaboration, I think about how much other industries miss without our 'essential networking'. So here's to the A&D community. 'If only' other industries were more like this one.
