If Only…

The UK’s train interiors could be placed on the right track and transformed from the drab to the dreamy

Says Adele Moss, Ellie Mccrum & Lauren Robinson of Ekho Studio

AS TRUE NOMADS, we spend a lot of time on trains going to see clients, sites, suppliers – and each other. If only train interiors met the standards of our dream cabin! The interior would be full of comfort cues, from Yorkshire Tea on tap to a wood-burning stove and a non-stop conveyor belt of snacks. A cocktail mixologist with a special passion for G&Ts wouldn’t go amiss either.

On the roof, a giant satellite dish would ensure the internet never went down for work calls, but we’d mostly just relax, sating our senses with the smell of fresh lowers – perhaps even a mini herbal greenhouse to nest in – or the sound of great tunes from a vintage jukebox. Movies, massage and a wall of books would let our minds drift. Alternately, we could just stare out at the Pennines – a visual soother on our frequent trips between Manchester and Leeds!
