Hyatt Hotels Corporation has begun construction on DLR Group-designed Hyatt Place Omaha Downtown/Old Market, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Nebraska.

Hyatt Place Omaha Downtown/Old Market is being developed at the northwest corner of Jackson Street and 12th Street. Nestled among the Omaha’s arts and entertainment centre, the new Hyatt will be a 10-storey tall, free standing building with self-contained parking.

The new hotel will feature 159 spacious guestrooms featuring multiple areas to work and relax. Inside, each guestrooms will have a Cozy Corner, an eight-foot sectional sofa sleeper, plush Hyatt Grand Bed, an ergonomic work center and a 42-inch high-definition TV.

The hotel is also likely to iterate the common traits of the Hyatt Place brand, which includes complimentary Wi-Fi access, a StayFit@Hyatt fitness center, a coffee and wine bar, and a Grab ’n Go case.

Hawkins Construction is the general contractor on the scheme.
