Hotel La Jolla reopens after $4 million renovation
San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has reopened the Hotel La Jolla in San Diego, California after undertaking a $4 million renovation scheme.
Designed by Gulla Jonsdottir and Claude-Anthony Marengo, the renovation project has given a new look and feel to the hotel. The all-new hotel now boasts a coastal-chic design. The project has added lobby, pool deck and lounge, meeting space and fitness centre. The new addition is marked by spacious and light-filled layout. The project has also added a new coastal-Mediterranean restaurant.
The new restaurant as well as the updates of the guestrooms and landscape have an elegant contemporary flavour. The hotel has 110 guestrooms, including four-900 square feet apartment-style luxury suites. The guestrooms are complete with a patio or balcony offering panoramic views of the sunset.
The new lobby features contemporary furnishings that provide an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. The project has developed a new space on the ground-level, called Hiatus. The more than 2,000 square feet Hiatus offers open-air relaxation, and is complete with fire pits, luxe chaise lounges and a bar.
The 11th floor of the hotel features a new Cusp Dining & Drinks restaurant that offers panoramic views; and a 950 square feet of meeting space. The updated landscape of the property features a contemporary motif that combined tropical and exotic vegetation with sculptural elements.
This marks the third Kimpton hotel in San Diego, following Hotel Solamar and Hotel Palomar San Diego.
