Honda Centre breaks ground on upgrades
The Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, has broken ground on a multimillion-dollar makeover.
The overhaul is considered to be the most extensive since the opening of the arena in 1993. The arena, owned by the city of Anaheim, houses the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks.
The overhaul will include creation of an indoor-outdoor Grand Terrace measuring 15,000 feet following the facelift. The Grand Terrace, positioned on the southern part of the facility, will feature a bar with dimensions of 80 feet.
The project will also lead to creation of a new public restaurant which will be located on the main floor of the facility. In addition, the team store will be expanded from 1800 to 4200 square feet as part of the project.
Work is due for completion by early 2013.
