Homer Township Public Library receives approval for expansion
The Homer Glen Village Board has given the nod for a $4 million expansion and revamp of the Homer Township Public Library in Homer Glen, Illinois.
The project will create a new addition spanning 11,650 square feet to the existing 24-year-old building. The addition will be built in the southern end of the facility and will don a rectangular shape. It will raise the size of the library to almost twice its former size. The new space will sport adult services as well as a quiet reading room.
The library has already secured funds of $50,000 for construction of the quiet reading room. The current library will be upgraded with creation of a new craft room and a family activity centre.
Work is due to commence by June 2012 and be completed by May 2013.
