Holloways of Ludlow gives a new face to Wagamama with Corian
Holloways of Ludlow has recently manufactured and installed an eye grabbing Corian restaurant-front at newly opened Wagamama in Westfield’s shopping centre, Stratford.
Holloways of Ludlow designer, Martin Smith’s challenge was to transfer the initial conceptual design by Anne Maclachlan of Cotton Thompson Cole - largely based on the Iconic Wagamama ‘star’ shape - to reality.
3-D modeling software was used to ensure that 500 different shaped triangular segments would seamlessly connect at varying angles, to create a mix of seemingly random peaks and uniform star shaped portholes.
Corian in Mint Ice, Glacier White and Nocturne was chosen as the only solid surface material that would fully realise the same beautifully clean, defined edges of the model, but also intersect with the glazing on the restaurant front to provide the perfect finish and durability.
The Corian was supplied to Holloways of Ludlow by CD (UK) Ltd, who are the sole UK distributor of Corian to fabricators in the UK
