High Desert MACC complex construction progresses
Swinerton Builders is undergoing construction on the $98 million High Desert Multi Service Ambulatory Care Centre (MACC) complex in California, US.
The complex has been designed by Architect Lionakis. It will feature an ambulatory care facility over two floors with a central plant. There will also be a separate one-level building. The facilities will span over a total area of about 142,000 square feet.
The ambulatory care facility of the property will incorporate a spacious ambulatory surgical centre, adult and pediatric primary care clinics, and urgent care clinic. It will also accommodate a women's clinic, medical and surgical subspecialty clinics, as well as ancillary diagnostic and treatment services. The single-storey facility will house administrative and support services.
Both the facilities will employ measures to repel heat. They will also be designed to allow optimum penetration of glare-free natural light in its occupied spaces. The property will install photovoltaic panels and wind turbines to meet its power needs.
Work on the complex is due for completion by mid-2014.
