Here is a picture of Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron chilling on their champagne-bottle-stop cork stools beneath their lily-pad disk of water.
Next month, Blueprint's 2012 Olympcs issue will be spearheaded by Herzog and de Meuron's Serpentine Pavilion with artist, friend and collaborator on the Beijing Olympics Bird's Nest Stadium, Ai Weiwei. The Serpentine Pavilion, which is the culmination of the UK Cultural Olympiad, takes visitors below ground to discover a palimpsest of past pavilions. Our August issue will look at the project in detail following our editor Johnny Tucker's trip to Basel to meet Herzog and de Meuron. The rest of the issue looks at the Olympic site, its legacy and forwards to 2016.
August issue out end of July.
