Hellas Sports Construction to renovate Angelo State University sports complex


Austin-based Hellas Sports Construction has secured a $1.2 million project from the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents to renovate the LeGrand Sports Complex of the Angelo State University in Texas.


To be renamed after 1st Community Federal Credit Union, the new sports centre will become the future home of Angelo State University's Rams.

As per the contract, a new multipurpose synthetic MatrixTurf field and epiQ TRACKS track system will be installed in the facility. Upon completion, the MatrixTurf field will provide a better surface for the athletes.

The comprehensive scope on the project includes the repositioning of the field events like moving of the long and triple jump, pole vault runways and javelin apron to put them in viewer- friendly location, which will enhance the atmosphere during home track meets.

The new sports facility is scheduled to open its doors to the spectators in 1 October 2013.
