Hatheway Hall theatre completes renovation, expansion
Edwardsville-based Contegra Construction Company has completed the $10.5 million refurbishment and expansion of the Hatheway Hall theatre building on the Lewis and Clark Community College campus in Godfrey, Illinois, US.
The project has been designed by Collinsville's AAIC Incorporation. It has revamped 62,500 square feet area of the two-storey building while expanding it by 6800 square feet. The facility's rooftop has now been equipped with a solar array spanning 8600 square feet. The array will generate electrical power and meet the water heating needs of the facility, thereby reaping energy cost cuts.
The lobby of the theatre, covering an area of 2000 square feet, is enclosed by glass. It incorporates a suspended wave ceiling following the makeover. The project has also led to creation of a new commercial kitchen which borders the lobby space.
An old gymnasium has been converted into banquet and exhibition space post overhaul. An indoor swimming pool has also received a facelift. The electrical and other systems of the theatre have also been upgraded. In addition, the remodelled facility has installed a new elevator and made other improvements to ease access for the disabled.
