Hancock County Health System unveils new renovations

Hancock County Health System in Garner has unveiled the final phase of a two-phase facility renovation project.

The hospital has undergone cosmetic, structural and functional improvements over the past two years, reports Britt News Tribune. The renovation project has expanded the size of the hallways and patient rooms. The renovation made few structural changes to improve privacy of rooms.

Comforting colour scheme has been employed throughout. Extensive changes were also made to the main entrance, administrative offices, dining room, business offices, radiology wing and eight patient rooms on the second level of the hospital.

An overnight sleep studies room is situated on the renovated section of the second floor, which has been specifically designed for a sleep study bed. The room is oversized. A hospice room set-up with an adjoining family space is also featured on the second floor. Other highlights on the floor include a patient/family consultation room and a family lounge/activity room.

Administrative offices have been relocated to the first floor. An expanded radiology wing has been moved to the place of old administrative offices. The area also offers additional space for x-ray equipment and features a room designed for the addition of an MRI machine in the future.

The renovation project lasted 22 months.
