Guarulhos International Airport opens new Terminal 4


The Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, Brazil has opened its new $49.4 million domestic Terminal.


The new terminal 4 spans over an area of 12,200 square metres. It sports a car parking lot with a capacity to house a maximum of 790 vehicles. Among its other features are new check-in zones, elevators, baggage claim carousels, restaurants, as well as restrooms.

The terminal will initially serve operations of the Rio de Janeiro-based Webjet airlines. It is expected to possess an annual passenger handling capacity of five million. The project has been financed by Brazil’s national airport operator Infraero as reported in Airport World.

The terminal has also been included in the $9.4 billion privatisation deal struck by the Invepar consortium. The contract involves operation and expansion of the airport for 20 years.
