Ground broken for Lincoln Park Pool in Nebraska
Ground has been broken for a new $1.67 million renovation project of a swimming pool located at Grand Island's Lincoln Park in Grand Island, Nebraska.
The new 200,000 gallon pool renovation will be designed by the US-based JEO Consulting Group Inc. It will feature two diving boards measuring 3m and 1m each, a two-storey slide and a five lane swimming area. The high dive will have a special safety staircase with railings. The pool will also have zero-depth entry, shade areas and a new bathhouse.
Trees have been removed from the grassy area next to the current pool in preparation for the build. The current parking lots will remain in place and a little-used concrete tennis court will be converted into additional parking.
Hausmann Construction of Lincoln will construct the pool. According to the construction officials, the construction is expected to be complete by 15 May 2013.
