The Green House Residences at Stadium Place in Maryland, US has opened doors.

Developed by Govans Ecumenical Development Corporation, the 48-room residence hall is targeted at older adults needing skilled nursing or short-stay rehabilitation care. The facility covers four floors with each of the stories designed like a 12-bedroom apartment.

All levels of the building comprise their own common kitchen, dining and living room areas known as hearths, as well as dens for watching TV and socializing. The floors also house therapeutic spa rooms and group porches overlooking a ball park between Stadium Place and the Y of Central Maryland.

All the elders are offered a private room and a private bathroom. The homes have also been equipped with advanced technology such as wireless pagers, and electronic lifts. The rooms incorporate safety features and have been designed to offer maximum passage of natural light.
